He has a solid foundation in manual therapy which he gained working in a variety of clinics in Johannesburg, London and for the past 6 years in Sydney. He worked extensively in the UK and completed an MSc Sports Medicine and then continued to work in a number of respected practices and sports injury clinics.
During his time in Sydney he has had the opportunity to work with the likes of Dr Barbara Hungerford in her clinic and further his knowledge of the SIJ region. He has presented his experience to physiotherapists undergoing the SPA Level 2 course work on 'The Role of the pelvis & SIJ in hip and groin injuries' and with his unique experience in working with pelvic conditions presented at the APA conference in 2007 on 'The Management of Pubic Diastisis during and after Pregnancy'.
His interest in MET started over 13 years ago and at the same time he was introduced to the concept of SIJ dysfunction. He is particularly interested in how the pelvis can be used as a useful reference point as one of the key corner stones of the body. Since then he has continued to develop an interest in understanding how the SIJ functions and develop a treatment method based on current research findings as well as his extensive years of clinical experience.
3 years ago Taso set-up Spinal Synergy Physiotherapy as a clinic that focus primarily on spine related musculoskeletal dysfunction and continues to develop a treatment method to managing SIJ related problems. He continues to develop an interest in understanding the inter-relatedness of different parts of the spine and trunk in overall posture control and body function. Taso has an intimate working knowledge of MET and uses this treatment method together with myofascial release extensively when treating his patients and is keen to share his knowledge & experience on the pelvis and SIJ. He has been running his SIJ series of courses since the beginning of 2010.
Most recently he attended as a delegate at The 7th Interdisciplinary World Congress on Low Back & Pelvic Pain Conference in Los Angeles in November 2010 were he was able to gain firsthand knowledge of recent developments in understanding the SIJ & pelvis regarding low back pain.
