MET involves the use of the patients own muscular efforts performing a gentle contraction with gentle resistance provided by the therapist and can therefore be used to treat very acute conditions but also the joints in the spine. It is used by osteopaths and other manual therapists for treating joints and muscles.

MET can be used in isolation but more commonly in combination with other appropriate treatment techniques including joint manipulations, myofascial release, trigger point work, soft tissue manipulation, massage therapy and rehabilitation. MET is a central treatment technique used by all our physiotherapists to enhance the effect of various treatment procedures.
Our physiotherapists have received specialized training in using MET and Taso Lambridis has been using MET since 1999 and was trained in this method in the United Kingdom. He now teaches other physiotherapists on how to apply this technique to the spine, pelvis & hips.
