Our Approach

Since each person is different, we take a very specific and personal approach by assessing your presenting condition with a comprehensive examination to determine those factors that may have contributed to the injury.

This also includes a thorough examination of your posture, alignment, and body movements. Rather than just treating local pain and discomfort our focus is based on the biomechanics involved and a treatment plan aimed at restoring normal movement. A comprehensive assessment is the foundation of a successful treatment program.

Our approach is to use our knowledge and experience but to base this in the most current evidence and research findings to provide you with the most appropriate treatment to help achieve your goals.

What to expect

As an overview our approach consists of the following:

  • Initial Consultation
  • Follow-up sessions
  • On Going Support

It is recommended that you bring with you comfortable clothing for your examination and subsequent treatment sessions. We will need to observe your problem areas, perform test movements with a physical examination and provide hands-on manual therapy intervention.

Hence wearing loose-fitting and comfortable clothing will assist us but also ensure you are comfortable. Exercise shorts or tights, a T-shirt or singlet is recommended in order for us to adequately examine and assess your problem.

Please bring with you any referral letters and relevant examinations such as X-rays, MRI & CT scans or medical reports to your consultation.

Based on the initial findings we provide a tailor-made treatment plan to suit each individual case; standard follow-up consultations last for 30minutes. With our advanced skills in biomechanics, posture and normal movement patterns the treatment strategies are designed for each particular presentation and aimed at achieving your individual goals.

Focusing on:

  • Restoring Normal Movement
  • Relieving Pain
  • Improving Core Strength
  • Improving Posture
  • Supervised Exercise & Rehabilitation
  • Return to Previous Activities & Exercise

Treatment can include a combination of hands-on manual therapy using a wide range of techniques with a combination of corrective exercise. We also provide Acupuncture & Dry Needling where appropriate.

The treatment to correct your posture and movement patterns may take a few sessions but in addition to the hands-on treatment we will proceed with a range of corrective and strengthening exercisers which will help guide you to a more balanced body. This is done during your individual treatment sessions when your physiotherapist will assist you in performing rehabilitation exercise but may also include small group exercise classes if appropriate to you.

We are very results driven and will not just keep treating you if we are not achieving the desired improvements. If we cannot help you, we are able to draw on our wide network of other medical practitioners (Sports Physicians, Spine Consultants, Orthopaedic Surgeons and Podiatrists) to assist us in achieving your goals.
